Roadblock Ahead: NHAI Hits the Brakes on Ceigall India's Amritsar Project

Ceigall India Limited today announced that the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has canceled their Amritsar connectivity project contract. The cancellation, with effect from February 25, 2025, is due to inadequate land acquisition progress as the main reason. The Rs. 1,071 Crores worth project was under the Bharatmala Pariyojana program in Punjab. NHAI will compensate for damages amounting to 1% of the contract value. The news comes close on the heels of Ceigall being declared L1 bidder for another NHAI project in Punjab, reflecting the fast-paced nature of infrastructure projects in the state.
