The Tiger's Roar: Phil Simmons Leads Bangladesh into the 2027 World Cup

Phil Simmons will remain the head coach of Bangladesh through to the 2027 ODI World Cup, extending his stint beyond the initial Champions Trophy deal. The 61-year-old was over the moon at getting the chance, citing the team's potential and his enthusiasm at being able to assist players in realizing their true potential. While having a troubled beginning, which saw the Champions Trophy group-stage exit, Simmons is positive about Bangladesh's prospects. He has coached Zimbabwe, Ireland, Afghanistan, and the West Indies, where he guided them to victory in the T20 World Cup in 2016.
