Tracks of Tomorrow: Ahmedabad's ₹2,371 Crore Railway Revolution

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has declared that Ahmedabad Railway Station is being redeveloped on a massive scale, which will be one of India's most sophisticated transport hubs. The ₹2,371 crore project will include a 648m x 140m wide roof plaza over the tracks, connectivity with bullet trains and metro, and 13 km of elevated road network. The station's architecture, being a nod to the famous Modhera Sun Temple, will have a massive arch with two towers alongside, making it a new landmark for the city. Construction will start in late April 2025, with the project looking to reshape Ahmedabad's cityscape and enhance the travel experience for millions of people.
