Tremors at the Border: Myanmar-India Shaken by 5.72 Magnitude Quake!

A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 5.72 on the Richter scale struck the border area between Myanmar and India today at 10:15 AM IST. The tremor was reported by the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) and was felt at a depth of 10 kilometers. Although there are no initial reports of deaths or extensive damage, people living in the vicinity experienced intense shaking. This incident is a follow-up to a chain of seismic movements in the area, such as a 5.1 intensity earthquake that rocked Myanmar on January 3, 2025. Local government officials are verifying the situation and calling on locals to be watchful. Seismologists keep an eye for possible aftershocks in the next few hours.
