A high-ranking White House official has drawn up sweeping new tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, including a base tariff on all nations and increased reciprocal tariffs on a list of about 60 "worst offenders." Targeted Sectors: Trump is also targeting sectoral tariffs on semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, and possibly critical minerals, which will also fall outside the purview of the new tariff regime.

Target "Worst Offenders": Approximately 60 nations are listed as "worst offenders" for charging high tariffs or non-tariff barriers against U.S. products. These countries will see higher reciprocal tariffs.

Tariffs on Canada and Mexico: Tariffs related to fentanyl trafficking and migration issues with Canada and Mexico will stay in effect as long as those situations remain.
