Uttar Pradesh to Spend More Than ₹400 Crore on Religious Tourism Boost

The Uttar Pradesh government has allocated more than ₹400 crore for religious tourism in its 2025-26 budget, with an emphasis on high-traffic pilgrimage destinations. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna declared ₹150 crore for Ayodhya, ₹125 crore for Mathura, ₹100 crore for Naimisharanya, and ₹50 crore for Chitrakoot. The budget also provides for ₹100 crore for wayside amenities along highways. Apart from this, ₹100 crore for land acquisition and construction at temples in Mirzapur district has also been allocated. This investment will enhance infrastructure and religious heritage, riding on the state's record 65 crore visitors in 2024.
