Women’s Wealth: Bridging the Financial Divide in North India!

Women in India have developed considerably in their financial engagement with a sizeable rise in borrowing and investment. Regional gaps have been an impediment, mostly in North India. States of large populations like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have poor financial inclusion and lower percentages of women registered as investors and active loans than are found in south states like Karnataka and Kerala. The proportion of women in live loans is 44% in Tamil Nadu and 23% in Uttar Pradesh. Amidst these issues, the financial literacy of women is increasing, with 42% more women checking their credit score during the last one year. It is vital to act upon such regional disparities to ensure inclusive financial growth.
