Agam Choudhary, Co-Founder and CEO, and Saksham Jain, Co-Founder, two brothers from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, co-founded Kyari in April 2022, India's number one D2C live plant and green decor brand. With ₹20 crore-plus FY26 revenue, 10 lakh-plus customers, PAT-level profitability, 200-plus SKUs, a self-watering innovation, Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2026 recognition, a FAST42 Inc42 feature, and a ₹100 crore revenue target by FY27-28, Kyari is redefining how urban India brings nature home.
Indore, a Business Family, a Post-COVID Plant Boom, and a Gap Nobody Had Filled
Agam Choudhary and Saksham Jain grew up in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, in a business family whose father ran a sanitary and tiles business in Sagar. Running a business was never foreign to either of them. But the business they chose to build was one their father could never have imagined.
In the years following COVID-19, Agam observed something transformative happening in urban India. People who had spent months at home had begun gravitating toward indoor plants, drawn by the evidence that greenery improved air quality, mental health, and the overall feel of a living space. But most people had no idea how to keep them alive.
Most solutions in the market focused either on plants or planters but very few offered a design-driven, care-first experience. He saw a gap: urban consumers wanted beautiful plants in their homes and offices but had no reliable, convenient, and aesthetically pleasing way to source, care for, and maintain them.
In April 2022, Agam and Saksham launched Kyari as a D2C green decor brand under the Select Brands group family. The founding mission was precise: make plant care easy and accessible while adding genuine aesthetic value to urban living spaces.
"When we started Kyari, many people believed live plants could never become a scalable online business. We focused on solving a real problem by making plant care effortless," Agam says.
Self-Watering Pots, Money Plant, Quick Commerce, and a Brand That Grows With Every Customer
The boldest product innovation Kyari built was the self-watering planter, a system that solves the single biggest reason urban Indians lose their plants: inconsistent watering. Traditional plant care required daily attention and a precise understanding of each plant's water needs. Kyari's self-watering system requires watering just once a week, making plant ownership genuinely sustainable for busy urban professionals.
The self-watering Money Plant remains one of Kyari's most popular products, a beloved Indian household plant made genuinely foolproof for the first time. The Hydrating Pen, another proprietary innovation, impressed the Sharks on Shark Tank India and confirmed that Kyari was building genuine plant-care technology rather than just selling plants in attractive pots.
The product range has grown to over 200 SKUs spanning self-watering plants, aesthetic planters, plant food, outdoor plants, and plant accessories. Nearly 25% of revenue comes from repeat customers. Bengaluru is the highest contributing market. The brand ships approximately 2,000 plants per day. A major driver of Kyari's growth has been quick commerce, which has helped accelerate discovery and delivery of live plants across urban India.
Revenue grew 460% from ₹1.75 crore in FY23 to ₹9.8 crore in FY24, fuelled by new category launches and the Shark Tank India feature. FY26 revenue has crossed ₹20 crore. The company has achieved PAT-level profitability, a landmark in India's D2C ecosystem.
The Shark Tank Moment, the Funding Journey, and the Forbes Recognition That Confirmed Everything
At the time of their Shark Tank pitch, Kyari had already served over 5 lakh customers. Agam and Saksham appeared on Shark Tank India Season 4 Episode 9, airing on January 16 2025, in a memorable face-off format against competitor Nurturing Green. They sought ₹80 lakh for 0.8% equity at a ₹100 crore valuation from Vineeta Singh, Kunal Bahl, Peyush Bansal, Anupam Mittal, and Namita Thapar. While no deal was secured, the founders received invaluable mentorship and gained national visibility that accelerated their growth.
The funding journey had begun earlier. Kyari raised ₹6.5 crore in pre-Series A funding led by Agra Gwalior Pathways and Airen Holdings, with participation from Amit Kumat of Prataap Snacks, Rajesh Patel of Apricot Foods, We Founder Circle, IVY League Ventures, and JITO. Total funding raised stands at approximately $1 million.
"The backing of our esteemed investors not only validates our vision but also empowers us to chart new horizons and unlock the full potential of our brand," Agam said.
Kyari was also featured in Inc42's prestigious FAST42 list, recognising it among India's fastest-growing D2C brands.
In 2026, both Agam Choudhary and Saksham Jain were named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia 2026 list under the Retail and E-commerce category.
"This recognition is a reflection of our customers and team who believed in us from day one," Saksham Jain said.

The Most Powerful D2C Brands Are the Ones That Solve the Problem That Comes After the Purchase
The sharpest lesson from Kyari's journey is this: the most defensible consumer brands in any physical product category are the ones that solve not just the purchase decision but the experience that follows it.
Everyone who buys a plant wants it to live. Most plants die because the buyer lacks the knowledge, the tools, or the consistency to care for it properly. Kyari solved that with a self-watering system that requires one watering per week, a product that makes plant ownership genuinely sustainable for the first time in urban India [cite: The Strategic Genius — Self-Watering Pots, Money Plant, Quick Commerce, and a Brand That Grows With Every Customer, The Business Lesson — The Most Powerful D2C Brands Are the Ones That Solve the Problem That Comes After the Purchase].
That insight produced 460% revenue growth [cite: The Strategic Genius — Self-Watering Pots, Money Plant, Quick Commerce, and a Brand That Grows With Every Customer, The Business Lesson — The Most Powerful D2C Brands Are the Ones That Solve the Problem That Comes After the Purchase]. Ten lakh customers. PAT-level profitability. Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia. FAST42 Inc42. And a ₹100 crore ambition.
"What we are building is still at a very early stage, but the demand clearly shows we are moving in the right direction," Agam Choudhary says.

The plants are thriving. And so is Kyari.
