A Global Economic Storm: UN Chief's Warning on Trade Wars

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres warned that a trade war across the world will benefit no country. His warning is given as tensions rise among large economies, with the U.S. taking action to impose tariffs on steel and aluminum, which in turn led the EU and Canada to retaliate. Guterres stressed that in the global economy, there are benefits of free trade for all countries, but that trade wars cause damage to the entire economy.
