A Lakh Reasons to Smile: Andhra Pradesh Government's Generous Gesture for Anganwadi Helpers

The Andhra Pradesh government has announced eye-popping reforms for Anganwadi workers and helpers. With the increase of the retirement age to 62 years, over 1.2 lakh workers are going to benefit from this. The government has also approved gratuity payments, with workers getting ₹40,000 and helpers ₹1 lakh on retirement. This came as part of fulfilling the government's pre-election promises. Following these orders, a G.O. No. 8 has been issued by the Women and Child Welfare Department. Anganwadi workers and helpers are happy with the announcement, as they consider it a vast improvement in their working conditions and retirement benefits.
