Adani Power Limited has won a landmark 25-year contract from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) to supply 1,600 MW of thermal power at a competitive tariff of Rs 5.30/kWh. This deal strengthens Adani Power’s position as India’s largest private sector power generator.
Adani Power announced on March 15, 2026, that it has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from MSEDCL following a competitive bidding process. The agreement underscores the company’s growing role in India’s energy security and long-term infrastructure planning.
Competitive Win And Strategic Expansion
Adani Power emerged as the lowest-tariff bidder, securing the contract for supply from its upcoming ultra-supercritical thermal power project. The power supply is scheduled to commence in FY 2030-31 under a 25-year Power Supply Agreement.
Strengthening India’s Energy Security
The deal aligns with India’s target of adding 100 GW of thermal capacity by 2032. Adani Power has already tied up 13.3 GW of long-term PSAs out of its 23.8 GW pipeline, ensuring strong revenue visibility and stability.
