The Assam state government is advocating for enhanced security for NEET-UG 2025 as a result of apprehension over the lack of adequate knowledge among the candidates even with high scores. Following controversies like paper leaks during the 2024 test, Assam is demanding robust reforms to ensure fairness and credibility in medical admissions. Recommendations are made for more stringent test center allotment guidelines, giving preference to government schools such as Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has already implemented features like compulsory face verification and Aadhaar-linked registration to prevent impersonation and cheating.
