Crypto Chaos: Musk's Stablecoin Plans Rattle Washington's Cage

In alarming emerging developments, Democrats are getting agitated at the prospect of Tech Giants, including Elon Musk-owned X (formerly Twitter), venturing into the stablecoin space. This follows the vote of 18-6 by the Senate Banking Committee to advance the GENIUS Act, a bipartisan piece of legislation aimed at the regulation of stablecoins. Senator Elizabeth Warren specifically expressed concern about Musk creating a currency that would rival the U.S. dollar, alerting the populace to the threat of a "privatization of the dollar." The bill has won the backing of both parties, with some Democrats siding with the Republicans in favor. On the other hand, the critics insist that it would allow tech companies to issue their own currencies, thus disrupting the financial system. The debate over Big Tech's role in cryptocurrency would only keep rising as X gears up to launch its payment system dubbed X Money in 2025.
