Diplomatic Crossroads: India's Parliamentary Committee on External Affairs Meets

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs has commenced its meeting in Delhi today. It will be chaired by Indian National Congress's Shashi Tharoor and discuss major foreign policy trends and approve the ministry's budgetary requests for the coming financial year 2025-26. It is taking place after a briefing recently by the Foreign Secretary about ongoing foreign policy concerns. The agenda of the committee is to study India's interactions with international partners, welfare of the diaspora, and strategic interests in the Indo-Pacific region. The outcome of the meeting is expected to influence India's diplomatic priorities and resource allocation over the next year.
