Empowered and Thriving: Rural Women Lead the Savings Revolution

A recent survey points out that 90% of Indian rural women entrepreneurs save a proportion of their monthly earnings regularly. Out of the savers, 56% opt for bank deposits, and 39% invest in Self-Help Group (SHG) savings schemes. This clearly proves a strong financial sense and business expansion orientation. Even with high penetration of bank accounts, digital banking usage stands at only 38%, which reflects the lack of adequate digital literacy. The report highlights the need to facilitate these entrepreneurs with better financial services and education.
