February Trade Deficit Narrows to $14.05 Billion, Boosting India's Economic Outlook

India's merchandise trade deficit for February has narrowed to $14.05 billion, according to Reuters calculations, beating market expectations of $21.65 billion. Merchandise imports were recorded at $50.96 billion, while exports stood at $36.91 billion. This reduction in the trade deficit is a positive sign for India's economy, indicating a healthier balance between imports and exports. The decrease is attributed to controlled imports and steady exports, despite global economic uncertainties. This trend suggests that India's trade policies are yielding favorable results, potentially boosting investor confidence and supporting economic growth.
