First Family, Final Stand: The Fantastic Four Face Galactus in Retro-Futuristic MCU Debut

Marvel Studios has ignited the internet with the official trailer drop for "The Fantastic Four: First Steps," giving fans their first full glimpse at the MCU's new aggressive interpretation of Marvel's First Family. The movie, under the direction of Matt Shakman and scheduled to be released on July 25, 2025, is a transport into a glittering, retro-futuristic 1960s Manhattan—where Reed Richards (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) are the city's sole heroes.

 

The trailer promises a family in crisis, with Reed and Sue having a baby on the way and the team's cohesion strained by an intergalactic threat. The iconic Galactus (Ralph Ineson), the planet-consuming baddie, has a momentous entrance—his gigantic presence wreaking havoc in the city. Just as intriguing is Julia Garner's Silver Surfer, whose ominous portents foretell disaster for the planet.

 

Fans experience vintage powers with a twist: Reed's stretching, Sue's invisibility, Johnny's flame flight, and Ben's unbreakable strength. The IMAX trailer shows even more action, with stunning visuals and an intense confrontation on the horizon.
