From Startup to Unicorn: BuildOps Achieves $1 Billion Valuation in Just Five Years

AI-driven commercial contracting platform BuildOps raised $127 million in a Series C round, taking its valuation to $1 billion. The round was led by Meritech Capital Partners, with new investors BOND Capital and Schneider Electric's SE Ventures joining existing investors. BuildOps, which was established in 2018, provides a single cloud-based solution that combines field service management, project management, and financial reporting for commercial contractors.

The firm will utilize the funds to build product capabilities, upgrade customer support, and increase operations to keep up with increasing demand. BuildOps CEO Alok Chanani underlined the mission of the platform to provide contractors with enhanced tools to simplify processes and increase efficiency. The investment is occurring when the commercial contracting sector, generating close to $300 billion every year in the U.S., struggles with severe issues such as shortages in labor and traditional practices.
