Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani declared at the Advantage Assam Summit 2025 that a high-end 7-star Oberoi hotel will be built in Assam. It is one of the initiatives included in Reliance's overall ₹50,000 crore investment plan for Assam for the next five years. The upper-class hospitality initiative is expected to promote the tourism industry in Assam and bring it up as a top destination. Ambani's announcement is in consonance with his dream of turning Assam from a "tea paradise" to a "tech paradise," highlighting the state's growth potential in every sector. The luxury hotel is bound to provide many jobs and boost Assam's economic growth.
