Godawari Power and Ispat Boosts Sponge Iron Capacity from 495,000 to 594,000 MT/Annum

Godawari Power and Ispat Limited (GPIL), a leading integrated steel manufacturer, has received approval to increase its sponge iron production capacity by 20%. The Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board has granted consent to operate the company's Sponge Iron Division at an enhanced capacity of 594,000 metric tons per annum, up from 495,000 metric tons. This significant boost in production capability comes at no additional cost, as GPIL confirms that no modifications or investments are required to achieve the higher output. The approval, valid until August 31, 2024, marks a major milestone in GPIL's growth strategy, strengthening its position in the competitive steel market.
