Teenage shooting sensation Suruchi Singh has driven India into a medal frenzy at the ISSF World Cup 2025 in Lima, Peru, winning two golds and taking the country's imagination by storm. The 18-year-old sensation beat Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker to take the women's 10m air pistol final with a tally of 243.6, while Manu had to content herself with silver. Suruchi then teamed up with Saurabh Chaudhary for the 10m air pistol mixed team event, coming back from a mid-match deficit to beat China's duo 17-9, due to a series of high-stress shots.

 

India’s dominance continued with Saurabh Chaudhary also securing bronze in the men’s 10m air pistol, marking his return to the World Cup podium after nearly three years. Suruchi’s journey from Haryana’s Jhajjar district—switching from wrestling to shooting after an injury—has been marked by resilience and family support.
