HAL's Tejas Mk-1A Makes Aero India 2025 Debut Amid Delivery Delays

The indigenously developed Tejas Mk-1A fighter jet is set to make its debut at Aero India 2025, Asia's largest airshow, which opened today in Bengaluru. Despite the aircraft's impressive display, its delivery to the Indian Air Force has been delayed to mid-2025 due to engine supply issues and certification requirements. The IAF Chief and Army Chief will fly in a two-seater Tejas Mk-1 trainer on Sunday, showcasing inter-service cooperation. HAL aims to ramp up production to meet the IAF's order of 83 Mk-1A jets, with plans to deliver 87 aircraft by 2028.
