GAIL (India) Ltd has announced a major renewable energy expansion with plans to establish a 600 MW solar power project in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. The project, integrated with a 550 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS), represents one of the company’s largest clean energy investments to date.

The state-owned energy major confirmed that the project will be developed at TUSCO’s solar park in Jhansi. Agreements were signed with TUSCO officials, marking a strategic step in GAIL’s transition toward sustainable energy solutions.

Project Details

The ₹3,294.86 crore investment will be financed through a mix of debt and equity. The facility will combine large-scale solar generation with advanced battery storage, ensuring grid stability and reliable power supply. Completion is targeted within 15 months of awarding the EPC contract.
