"I Won't Work 5 Days in the Office": The Cost of London Living Sparks a Remote Work Revolution

In a surprise move, 25-year-old Indian London-based employee Taruna Vinaykiya has refused to come into the office five days a week. She said that she cited the reason as the cost of living and not receiving an increase in salaries. Vinaykiya, a Global Influencer Strategy Manager for the Lego Group, complained about her frustration on LinkedIn, claiming that she is unable to pay bills despite working at a "good" job. She asked why Gen Z workers should survive on ancient wages when living expenses are going up. Vinaykiya asserted that she will not be spending a big chunk of her salary on commuting only to show up for video calls that could be held remotely.
