India’s state-run ISRPL and UAE energy major ADNOC have signed a new agreement as part of a broader oil cooperation framework, alongside a separate pact on LNG and LPG storage facilities in India. The twin deals tighten energy links between New Delhi and Abu Dhabi, boosting energy security and expanding the UAE’s footprint in India’s fast growing fuel market.

The announcements come as India seeks to secure long term, reliable supplies of crude and gas while building up strategic and commercial storage capacity. Oil Storage Partnership Under New Pact

Under the oil related agreement, India’s ISRPL and ADNOC will deepen cooperation around crude storage in Indian facilities, potentially expanding on existing strategic reserves arrangements. This allows India to hold more crude closer to home while giving ADNOC the ability to stock and trade barrels directly from Indian caverns, enhancing flexibility for both sides.

A separate pact covers the development and use of LNG and LPG storage facilities in India, aimed at supporting rising demand for cleaner fuels. As India pushes for greater use of gas in industry, households and transport, additional storage capacity can improve supply reliability, price management and the ability to handle import surges or disruptions.
