India-US Ties Poised for Reset as PM Modi Prepares for Key Talks with Trump

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the US on February 12-13, 2025, to meet President Donald Trump, focusing on trade and defense cooperation. India is preparing tariff cuts in over a dozen sectors, including electronics, chemicals, and medical equipment, to boost US exports and avoid a trade conflict. Discussions will also cover H-1B visas, energy cooperation, and nuclear technology. With bilateral trade surpassing $118 billion in 2023-24, the visit aims to strengthen the Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership between the two nations.
