India's Engineering Marvel: New Pamban Railway Bridge Ready for Grand Inauguration

India's first vertical lift railway sea bridge, the New Pamban Bridge, is set to revolutionize connectivity to Rameswaram Island. Completed in just five years at a cost of ₹535 crore, this 2.07 km engineering marvel features a 72.5-meter vertical lift span that can rise 17 meters in under 5 minutes. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the bridge in mid-February, resuming train services to Rameswaram after a two-year hiatus.
