India’s Healthcare Future: Government Earmarks ₹500 Crore for AI, Pandemic Response, and MedTech

In a significant move to bolster India's healthcare infrastructure, the Union Budget has earmarked ₹500 crore for the Department of Health Research. This funding aims to enhance pandemic preparedness, integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into health services, and advance medical technology development. Dr. Bahl of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) emphasized that this allocation will support initiatives to strengthen the country's health research capabilities, ensuring a robust response to future health crises. The investment underscores the government's commitment to leveraging AI and cutting-edge technologies to improve healthcare outcomes nationwide.
