India's Private Sector Growth Posts Six-Month High in February

India's private sector grew strongly in February, as the HSBC Flash India Composite Output Index climbed to 60.6 from 57.7 in January, its strongest since August 2024. This was led mainly by the service sector, whose activity index reached 61.1, upholding a minor decline in manufacturing. The rebound was triggered by a substantial rise in new orders for new business and the highest employment generation on record as companies responded to increased demand by hiring more. Even though pressure on input costs eased, businesses managed to retain cost pressures passed on to buyers, resulting in increased selling prices.
