INSPIRE 2025 Ignites India’s Defence Self-Reliance Drive

The Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL) recently organized the INSPIRE 2025 workshop—short for Indigenisation of Systems for Productionisation through Innovation and Reconnaissance. Held in Hyderabad, the event brought together key stakeholders from India’s defence and aerospace sectors to chart a roadmap for self-reliance in critical technologies. Inaugurated by Dr. V.K. Saraswat, Member of NITI Aayog, and attended by DRDO Chairman Dr. Samir V. Kamat, the workshop emphasized the need for cutting-edge R&D, rapid prototyping, and industry-academia collaboration. Over 25 public and private organizations showcased indigenous defence technologies, reinforcing India’s commitment to reducing import dependency and achieving strategic autonomy by 2047 under the Viksit Bharat vision.
