Jharkhand Launches JH-SAY To Empower Ultra-Poor Families

Rural Development Minister Deepika Pandey Singh unveiled JH-SAY in Ranchi, calling it a historic step to ensure no poor family is left behind. The scheme builds on Jharkhand’s Ultra Poor Graduation Approach (UPAJ), which has already gained national recognition and been adopted under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-NRLM.

Scheme Launch Details

• Organised by the Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS) in collaboration with The/Nudge Institute.
• Cheques worth ₹44 crore distributed for implementation in East Singhbhum, Palamu, Godda, Simdega, and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts.
• Initial coverage of 16,000 families, with 9,000 more to be added soon, targeting 41,000 families in the first two phases.
• Focus on livelihood support, financial inclusion, and social security for ultra-poor households.

• Designed to uplift marginalised families, especially vulnerable tribal groups, by providing sustainable livelihood opportunities.
