Jio Financial Services has announced the incorporation of Jio Allianz General Insurance Limited, a joint venture with global insurance major Allianz. As part of the structure, Jio Financial will invest about ₹49.5 million for its stake in JAGIL, marking a fresh push into India’s competitive general insurance space with a strong distribution and technology backbone.

The move signals Jio Financial’s intent to build a full stack financial services platform beyond lending and payments, while Allianz gains deeper access to India’s fast growing retail and SME insurance market.
