Joint Venture Structure And Project Blueprint

The partners have incorporated Ghaziabad Bioenergy Private Limited as the special purpose vehicle, with Wabag holding 5,100 shares and Peak 4,900 shares, each with equal economic interest of up to 50 percent. The project will be executed on a Build-Operate-Transfer model, with a three year lock in for existing shareholders to ensure stability through the construction and early operations phase.

Why This Bio-Cng Plant Matters

Located at a sewage treatment site in Dundaheda, the Ghaziabad Bio-CNG facility will convert municipal wastewater and sludge into compressed bio-gas for use in mobility and industrial applications. This first project under the Wabag–Peak framework serves as a pilot within an MoU to set up up to 100 Bio-CNG plants across India and select global markets, cumulatively targeting over 70 million kg of Bio-CNG annually and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

Broader Green Energy Ambition

Wabag will lead on technology, design, execution and O&M, while Peak brings climate-focused capital and energy expertise, making the platform attractive for sustainable infrastructure investors. If successfully scaled, the Ghaziabad model could be replicated across multiple sewage treatment plants, turning city waste streams into a predictable green fuel and carbon abatement opportunity.
