WOW STORY OF THE DAY: He Googled How to Edit Faster, Found AI, and Became the AI Kid of India at 17
A Google Search, a Scammer, and the Moment He Realised AI Could Change Lives
• Raul John Aju grew up in Kochi, Kerala, the son of Aju Joseph, his father, CEO of AI Realm and his earliest believer, who gave him access to Adobe's premium editing suite worth ₹12,000 through a professional connection during COVID. Raul began making videos, building content, and managing school simultaneously. When the workload became overwhelming, he did what any problem-solver does: he searched for a faster way.
• That one Google search for "how to edit videos faster" led him to an AI tool that compressed his two to three week editing process into two days. The question that followed, how does this actually work, pulled him into the world of artificial intelligence with a curiosity that has never stopped.
• The moment that confirmed his direction came from an unlikely place: a YouTube scammer. Instead of simply blocking him, Raul engaged, identified the scammer's location, and then taught him how to actually earn money using AI. The scammer started earning and then blocked Raul. "That moment made me realise: this technology can genuinely change lives. Even a scammer's. That's when I knew I had to share this wider," Raul says.
• He then built Mebot, his AI clone robot, trained on his own voice, language patterns, and humour using conversational AI, Unreal Engine, and more, capable of explaining AI the way Raul would explain it, with energy and real examples rather than textbook definitions. Mebot went viral. Calls came in from across Kerala, then Chennai, then Bengaluru, then nationally. Shashi Tharoor recognised him on a train. And the identity of Kerala's AI Kid found him before he ever claimed it himself.
Six AI Tools, One Academy, and a Mission to Build for the Last Row
• Raul founded AI Realm Technologies in 2024 with one founding philosophy: build AI that actually helps people, not AI built for hype. Every tool under the AI Realm umbrella is built to make life easier for someone who genuinely needs it.
• His flagship product, ResQ.AI, is an emergency legal intelligence platform that analyses contracts, researches case law, and connects users to verified lawyers in seconds. It was built for the person who just lost their phone in an unfamiliar city, the woman walking through a dark alley alone, and the small-town lawyer who cannot access senior consultation. "Human-centric AI does not replace the expert. It gives the expert superpowers and makes those superpowers accessible to people who never had them before," Raul says.
• Beyond ResQ, his tool suite includes Mebot, his physical AI avatar that mirrors his voice and gestures in real time. ZapGap, a zero-configuration cloud deployment platform for indie developers to ship faster. Investo AI, a crypto and stock portfolio optimisation engine. FeedFye, an intelligent auto-posting platform for LinkedIn and Instagram. And The Lab, housing 10-plus experimental prototypes currently in development.
• ThinkCraft Academy, his free AI education platform launched under AI Realm, operates on one rule: how much money you have does not decide whether you learn the basics. The academy has educated 400,000-plus students with 700,000-plus course video views across two full courses: AI Curious to AI Serious, covering LLMs, transformers, and neural networks in simple language, and AI Learner to AI Earner, turning AI skills into real income and productivity workflows. A third advanced builder track covering agents, RAG, and workflow automation is in development.
• For corporates, AI Realm has delivered AI workshops to HP, ICICI Bank, Allstate, Happy Gas, and more, teaching employees and leadership how to implement AI workflows in real work environments.
Scale, Recognition and Real-World Impact
• Raul John Aju is a 7x TEDx speaker having spoken at TEDx CCET, TEDx RIET, TEDx ASADI, TEDx Kanke, TEDx GIBS, TEDx VJCET, and TEDx Marwadi. He has spoken at India Today Conclave Mumbai, India Today Conclave South, Business Today, the Economic Times Global Business Summit, ET Now Leaders of Tomorrow, Times Now GBS, Times Now Leaders Meet, GITEX Dubai, imaginext 2026, and AI Impact Summit among many others. He has been featured on Asianet News, The Hindu, India Today, NDTV, Aaj Tak, Manorama News, News18, The Indian Express, Radio Mirchi, Red FM, and more. His Instagram at @raul_the_rockstar has 325,000-plus followers generating 10 million-plus monthly views. ThinkCraft Academy has 400,000-plus students and 700,000-plus course video views. He has won the 100X Engineers buildathon back-to-back, described as India's biggest AI buildathon. He collaborates with government officials, police officials, and industry leaders to implement responsible AI solutions. He is currently 17 years old and still in school preparing for board exams while simultaneously seeking funding for AI Realm and completing ResQ.AI.
The Best Problem-Solvers Are the Ones Who Start With a Personal Deadline
• The sharpest lesson from Raul John Aju's journey is this: the most powerful innovations begin not with a grand vision but with a personal, urgent, specific problem that needs solving before a deadline.
• Raul was not trying to change India's AI landscape. He was trying to finish a video faster. That specificity, that genuine personal urgency, gave him an authenticity that no manufactured founder story can replicate. He built tools he personally needed. He taught what he personally discovered. He shared the curiosity that personally pulled him in. And 400,000 students, 325,000 followers, and six live AI products later, the AI Kid of India is still in school, still learning, and still building.
• "I'm not waiting to graduate. I'm building while I'm still learning. And that's the whole point," Raul says.
• A kid from Kochi who Googled a faster way to edit videos is now speaking alongside world leaders at GITEX Dubai, educating hundreds of thousands of Indians for free, and building AI tools that give ordinary people extraordinary capabilities.
• The deadline was the gift. The curiosity was the superpower. The mission is everything in between.
