Kerala Among Highest Spenders on Higher Education Per Youth, Says NITI Aayog Report

NITI Aayog's recent report "Expanding Quality Higher Education through States and State Public Universities" highlights Kerala as one of the top spenders on higher education per youth. The state, along with Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, leads in per youth education spending. Kerala also boasts a high college density of 66, more than twice the national average. The state's commitment to education is further evidenced by its top ranking in the SDG India Index for three consecutive years (2018-2020) and its low multidimensional poverty index of 0.71%. These achievements underscore Kerala's dedication to building a knowledge-based economy through strategic investments in higher education.
