Kerala Unveils Ambitious Rs 200 Crore Plan to Revolutionize Tourism and Connectivity

Finance Minister K. N. Balagopal's announcement of interstate tourism programs and improved connectivity under the 2025-26 state's budget with a Rs 200 crore investment plan is a major support for the development of tourism in Kerala. This includes the establishment of IT parks, food parks, and large infrastructure investments. This also includes the allocation of Rs 1,000 crore for the Vizhinjam Kollam Punalur corridor with a view to supplementing regional transportation. Other than that, the budget shares out Rs 5 crores each for development in Kollam and Cherai along the coastline. The maritime museum to be set up in Kollam will consume another Rs 20 crore to boost the tourism potential of the state. The projects are expected to get significant momentum in Kerala's tourism and overall economic development.
