Kolkata's Airport Metro Project Achieves Milestone with India's Longest 'Box-Pushing' Tunnel

Kolkata is set to witness a groundbreaking achievement as the Airport Metro project initiates the construction of India's longest "box-pushing" tunnel, measuring 135 meters. This innovative tunneling method, which minimizes surface disruption, involves pushing 14 precast concrete boxes beneath the airport flyover. The project aims to enhance connectivity between New Garia and the city airport while ensuring uninterrupted traffic flow. With completion expected in 10 months, this engineering marvel will redefine urban transport in India.
