The last will of the deceased industrialist Ratan Tata, who expired on October 9, 2024, has come out with the division of his Rs 3,800 crore assets. In keeping with his philanthropic nature, the majority of his assets have been left for philanthropic purposes, with the majority of the assets going to the Ratan Tata Endowment Foundation and the Ratan Tata Endowment Trust. 1. Charitable Foundations :

- The Ratan Tata Endowment Foundation holds 70% of Tata Sons' shares.

- The balance of 30% is for Ratan Tata Endowment Trust.

2. Family Members:

- Half-sisters Deanna Jejeebhoy and Shireen Jejeebhoy receive one-third of residual assets, which are valued at around Rs 800 crore.

- Jimmy Naval Tata, his 82-year-old brother, receives silverware, jewelry, and half of the Juhu bungalow.

3. Close Associates:

- Mohini M Dutta, a long-serving Tata Group hand and loyalist, gets another one-third of leftover assets.

- Mehli Mistry, a family friend, gets the Alibaug property and three guns.

4. Pets and Staff :

- Rs 12 lakh kept aside for pet maintenance; all pets are given Rs 30,000 quarterly.

- Loans waived for Shantanu Naidu (student loan) and neighbor Jake Malite (education loan).

- Domestic help is provided with a monetary assistance of Rs 30 lakh to Rs 50 lakh.

5. Foreign Assets :

- Seychelles land worth Rs 40 crore is being allocated to RNT Associates Singapore.

- His possessions consist of bank accounts with Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo.

6. Special Provisions :

- A "no-contest clause" causes beneficiaries that contest the will to forfeit their inheritance.

- Executors to the will—lawyer Darius Kambatta, Mehli Mistry, Shireen Jejeebhoy, and Deanna Jejeebhoy—have moved for probate in Bombay High Court. It could take six months.

Ratan Tata's will demonstrates his dedication to philanthropy without leaving behind a dependent family or close friends. His legacy is maintained through his charitable trusts and wise distribution of wealth.
