Maha Kumbh's Sweeping Success: UP Brushes Off Old World Record

Uttar Pradesh has created a new Guinness World Record at the Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, with 19,000 sanitation workers taking part in a coordinated cleaning campaign in four zones. This is higher than the earlier record of 10,000 workers during Kumbh 2019. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also took part in the event, stressing the need for cleanliness and greenness. The huge drive, under the 'Swachh Maha Kumbh' campaign, spanned around 10 km in the Maha Kumbh Mela grounds. Urban Development Minister AK Sharma hailed the sanitation workers as the "true heroes" of the festival. The record-breaking feat is in line with the UP government's efforts to ensure high standards of hygiene during the 45-day religious festival.
