Metropolis Healthcare Executive Chairperson Ameera Shah announced plans to buy 2-3 companies annually to enhance the company's presence in north and east India. Metropolis, which specializes in specialty testing in oncology, neurology, nephrology, and infectious diseases, wishes to close the gap with market leader Dr. Lal PathLabs. The deals will be funded by the company's debt-free balance sheet and ₹200-300 crore of cash generation annually. Some recent deals include Core Diagnostics (₹247 crore) and Scientific Pathology (₹55-83 crore), which enhance Metropolis' reach in Delhi NCR and Western Uttar Pradesh. The deals are expected to lift northern India's revenue contribution from 8% to 13-14% by FY26. Metropolis plans to add 100 towns, 800 collection centers, and new labs by FY26, leveraging organic and inorganic growth side by side to rival industry giants.
