Mormugao Port Boosts Container Operations with New Liebherr Cranes

Mormugao Port has enhanced its container handling capabilities with the arrival of two Liebherr mobile harbour cranes from Germany. Each crane has a lifting capacity of 125 tonnes, significantly improving the port's efficiency. The cranes will be operational by the end of March 2025 and will be used at berths 10 and 11, managed by Delta Ports Mormugao Terminal. This upgrade aims to revive container cargo operations, which had stalled due to a lack of harbour cranes. The port is also exploring shipping links to Mundra and Vizhinjam ports to further expand its reach.
