Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries has confirmed plans to launch a constellation of LEO satellites, marking a bold entry into global satellite communications. With six dedicated teams working on satellites, payloads, and user terminals, the initiative aligns with India’s ambition to reduce reliance on foreign providers and expand rural connectivity.  

Reliance’s Satellite Strategy  

Reliance is engaging with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to secure orbital slots and frequencies via the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The satellite arm will operate under Jio Platforms, leveraging its telecom dominance to deliver affordable satellite internet services.
