Namami Gange Programme Offers ₹10,000 Crore Opportunity for EPC Sector

The Namami Gange Programme (NGP) presents a significant business opportunity worth ₹10,000 crore for companies in the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) sector, according to ICRA. This initiative, aimed at cleaning and rejuvenating the Ganga River and its tributaries, has seen substantial government spending on water supply and sanitation projects. As of January 2025, 492 projects have been sanctioned under NGP, with 307 operational. Despite challenges in project execution, ICRA suggests the government may extend the programme beyond its March 2026 deadline, potentially creating more opportunities for EPC companies over the next few years.
