NBCC Secures Three Hydro Projects from Mizoram Government

NBCC (India) Limited, a state-owned construction company, has been awarded contracts for three significant hydro projects by the Government of Mizoram's Department of Irrigation & Water Resources. The projects aim to harness the region's water resources for sustainable development and community benefit.The three projects include:

1. Harnessing the potential of the Mat River in Serchhip: A sustainable dam project for water security and community development.
2. A multipurpose project on the Tuirini River.
3. A project on the Tuivawl River.

These initiatives align with Mizoram's goal to tap into its estimated 4,500 MW hydro-electric power potential, of which only 0.6% has been harnessed so far. The projects are expected to contribute significantly to the state's power generation capacity and overall development.NBCC's involvement in these projects underscores its growing role in India's infrastructure development, particularly in the northeastern states.
