Bollywood superstar Salman Khan will be missing his traditional Eid release calendar for the next war movie, Battle of Galwan, directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The film, which is based on the 2020 Galwan Valley conflict between Indian and Chinese soldiers, is being produced on a grand scale and is also beset by logistical issues which have led to a change of release plans.

The film was originally scheduled to be out in March 2026 at Eid alFitr but will likely miss that due to complicated shoot schedules in Ladakh and tight postproduction schedules.
Trade sources indicate the company is likely to launch in Mayend with Bakri Eid or the Independence Day weekend of August as options.
Salman Khan will play Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu, one of the key characters of the Galwan faceoff, and Chitrangda Singh will feature in the cast in a significant role.
