Andhra Pradesh's adventure tourism sector is set for a major boost since the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) has received over 130 proposals from parties and individuals interested in undertaking land, water, and air-based adventure activities. This is a sequel to bringing out a robust new policy under Government Order Ms. No. 15, to establish the state as a leading destination for responsible, eco-tourism, and safe adventure tourism.
Key Highlights:
Diverse Activities: Uses range from trekking, climbing, and ATV tours to scuba diving, kayaking, river cruising, paragliding, skydiving, and air safaris.
Strict Safety & Sustainability: They must register, undergo safety audits, provide first-aid training, and insure the participants for at least ₹2 lakh. Children under the age of 18 are not allowed for high-risk activities.
Environmental Ethics: The policy implements 'Leave No Trace' policies and requires clear risk signage on activity locations.
Monitoring: A special committee will ensure compliance, with punitive measures for violation or accidents.
Prospects With keen enthusiasm and well-regulated management, Andhra Pradesh will aim to be a first-class place for adventure tourism, with local job opportunities as well as international-level experience assured.
