Air India and Icelandair Announce Codeshare Partnership to Enhance Connectivity Between India and Europe

Air India and Icelandair have entered into a strategic codeshare partnership, significantly expanding travel options between India and Iceland while improving connectivity across major European hubs. The agreement, signed on the sidelines of the 81st IATA Annual General Meeting in New Delhi, aims to provide seamless travel experiences for passengers flying between the two regions.  

 

Key Highlights of the Codeshare Agreement  

- Air India will place its AI designator code on Icelandair-operated flights connecting Reykjavik with London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Milan, and Zurich  

- Icelandair will add its FI designator code on Air India-operated flights between Delhi and Amsterdam, Paris, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London Heathrow, and between Mumbai and Frankfurt, London Heathrow  

- The partnership ensures unified baggage allowances and convenient connection times for travelers  

- Subject to regulatory approvals, the codeshare flights will be progressively made available for booking through both airlines’ official channels
