AksharChem (India) Ltd has announced the commissioning of a 5.19 MWp / 3.85 MWAC ground-mounted solar power plant. The project is designed to meet a significant portion of the company’s captive electricity needs, lower energy costs and support its sustainability agenda, while insulating operations from future grid-tariff volatility.
AksharChem (India) Ltd, a leading dyes and intermediates player, has informed stakeholders that its new ground-mounted solar power project has been fully commissioned and synchronised with its facilities. Rated at 5.19 MWp (3.85 MWAC), the plant is expected to supply a substantial share of the company’s power requirement through captive consumption, backed by applicable open-access / wheeling arrangements where relevant.
The solar project forms part of AksharChem’s broader strategy to de-risk energy costs, improve margins and demonstrate stronger ESG credentials to global customers. By replacing a chunk of conventional power with renewable energy, the company aims to reduce both its carbon emissions and exposure to peak-tariff spikes, while locking in long-term visibility on electricity expenses.
