Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has unveiled an ambitious plan to boost Andhra Pradesh’s mining sector revenue to ₹30,000 crore annually. Drawing inspiration from Odisha’s success, the strategy emphasizes scientific mineral assessment, value addition, and tighter regulation, aiming to transform the state into a resource-driven economic powerhouse.

In a decisive move to unlock the economic potential of Andhra Pradesh’s mineral reserves, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed the Mines and Geology Department to prepare a comprehensive roadmap targeting ₹30,000 crore in annual revenue. This marks a dramatic leap from the current target of ₹3,320 crore for FY 2025–26.

During a high-level review meeting at the State Secretariat, Naidu emphasized the importance of scientific valuation, efficient extraction, and robust monitoring systems. He urged officials to study Odisha’s mining model, which generates ₹50,000 crore annually through value-added mineral processing, and replicate its success in Andhra Pradesh.

The Chief Minister also reviewed the implementation of the free sand policy, stressing the need for stricter surveillance to prevent smuggling and misuse. He called for the installation of CCTV cameras at state borders and real-time tracking systems to monitor sand supply and distribution.
