Celebrating four decades of association with the International Film Festival of India, Anupam Kher returned to IFFI 2025 in Goa with a sense of nostalgia and gratitude. The acclaimed actor, who first appeared at the festival with his debut film Saaransh in 1984, shared heartfelt reflections on the role IFFI has played in his artistic evolution.
Speaking ahead of the screening of three of his films at the 56th edition of the festival, Kher described IFFI as a “prestigious platform” that introduced him to global cinematic legends and helped shape his understanding of storytelling. He recalled meeting iconic directors such as Federico Fellini, Akira Kurosawa, and Elia Kazan during past editions, calling those encounters transformative.
